Academic and Clinical Nurses’ Perceptions and Experiences on Academic-Practice Partnership in Evidence-Based Practice: An Interpretive Description

Aim. To explore academic and clinical nurses’ perceptions experiences on academic-practice partnership in evidence-based practice. Background. Academic-practice could promote practice which is crucial for high-quality care. Academic nurses are the foundation of partnerships; however, there little knowledge their Methods. This an interpretive description study. Twenty-two eligible participants were interviewed through face-to-face or online videoconferencing meetings. Guiding questions interviews focused context Interviews recorded, transcribed, checked verbatim. We used constant comparative analysis to analyze qualitative data. Results. Four themes with fifteen subthemes generated: necessities, modes, challenges, benefits Participants believed that was a necessary strategy be built different modes. Nevertheless, most partnerships superficial because specific types challenges. However, good create win-win situation both nursing academia Conclusion. side Different modes provide more opportunities higher likelihood successful implementation. related challenges require multilevel measures better environments initiate, build, maintain intensive collaborations between nurses.
